"The Birth and Death of Stars"
Free Lecture by Dr. Peter Watson
Dept. of Physics, Carleton University
Stars -- like humans -- are born in nurseries, such as the Orion Nebula. But they die in spectacular explosions that leave their signature on the sky, like the Veil Nebula. In this lecture, Carleton University's Peter Watson explores the science behind Sanjeev Sivarulrasa’s awe-inspiring photographs of the night sky, and talks about how our solar system’s creation star -- the sun -- will eventually die.
